On September 27, 2025, at 1pm, Kenny will present and participate in Brüche und Kontinuitäten (Ruptures and Continuities), Sophiensæle is looking into the history of its own building. Understanding history and memory culture as a shared responsibility is at the forefront of this project. Together with artists, historians and civil society initiatives, the diverse history of the building will be illuminated–as a place of craft education, Yiddish theater, political organization of workers, Nazi forced labour and less illuminated perspectives such as crip history.

Short inputs from experts from various areas of remembrance culture, commemorative work and open discussion rounds invite you to engage with questions of remembrance culture(s): How do we deal with ruptures and continuities? Which voices are missing from historiography? And how can art and culture contribute to making historical voids visible and opening up new perspectives? The workshop creates space for exchange, participation and joint reflection–on the past, present and future of an inclusive culture of remembrance.
